What It Is. What It's NOT!
Mediterranean Harvest For Life is a bit of a misnomer -- a name that could suggest a lot of foreign foods.
But it's really all about eating a concentration of the right kind of foods -- not unfamiliar or foreign food.
MHFL is NOT -- WE REPEAT, NOT -- promoting Falafel, Feta, Hummus or Grape Leaves. Rather, we're focusing on shifting our eating away from some things that aren't as good for you to a concentration on the right foods. (Oh, you can eat those things if you want --we're just emphasizing other stuff.)
Like moving away from a predominantly meat-and-potatoes meal to some other favorites -- like a Shish Kebob with lean beef, pineapple, tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms... or Chili made with ground turkey, beans, tomatoes and peppers... or shifting from fast-food fries to baked sweet potato fries.
It's also about eating meals that deliver what's been called a "Divine Mix" of ingredients that provide tremendous health benefits. It's about eating foods you're already familiar with that have been characterized as "the ultimate Functional Foods."
At Mediterranean Harvest For Life, we provide guidelines on what to eat to get the health benefit of these key ingredients -- like Salmon for its incredible Omega 3 properties, or nuts (recognizing the first 3 letters in nutrition are NUT.) Like preparing meals using Olive Oil vs. other oils or butter -- given all the incredible properties in Olive Oil. Or like shifting from an ice-berg lettuce salad to a grilled chicken breast, strawberry, nut, seed, tomato, cuke, romaine and spinach leaf salad.

We also help you keep your weight in check or lose weight by focusing on some great, low calorie stuff. Or like adding a broths or a Minestrone soup to your menu to fill you up. And choosing from an array of foods with equal or less calories than grams to keep you feeling full.
It's also about reducing fatty foods, processed foods and other foods that can clog arteries and make you put on the pounds -- and that simply just don't produce healthy bodies.
And, it's about having fun!!! REPEAT HAVING FUN!
